Do I need to book a visit to the cat lounge ahead of time?

Walk-in spots are available for each session, but space is limited. Reservations are strongly encouraged!

Walk-in spots are first-come-first-serve and cannot be made over the phone, only in person!

Do I have to have a reservation to visit the cafe?

You do not! A reservation will grant you access to the cat lounge, but you are more than welcome to visit the cafe, buy a drink and/or snack, and watch the kitties through the windows!

It's not letting me add everyone in my group to a reservation! Is the website broken?

No! If you are trying to book a reservation for multiple people and it is not allowing you to add the amount of people you would like, this simply means that the session is full for online reservations.

You are welcome to call and see if there are walk-ins available for that session, but we recommend booking a different session with more space, as walk-in spaces are limited.

What is the Rescheduling or Cancelling policy?

Bookings must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to your reservation and rescheduled at least 2 hours prior to your reservation.

You can cancel or reschedule your booking from your confirmation email as long as it is within the policy time-frame. (under the cat picture!)

Are drinks included with a reservation?

No, the price for a reservation only grants you access to the cat lounge. Drinks and snacks must be purchased seperately.

Are drinks allowed in the cat lounge?

Any drinks or snacks that we sell in the store are allowed in the cat lounge, however outside food and drinks are not.

Is there parking at the cafe?

We do not have dedicated parking for the cafe, please utilize the street parking nearby.

Is there an age restriction for the cat lounge?

We currently welcome any visitors 6 and older. Any child younger than this is not permitted in the cat lounge but are welcome to watch the cats through the windows in the cafe!

There must be 1 adult present for every 2 children. This is more flexible for kids 11 years and up!

Do kids get in for free?

No, child admission price is the same as adult admission price.

Do I bring my own cat?

Negative, please do not bring your cat. Leave your cat at home, we have plenty of cats here.

Can I feed the cats during my visit?

Most of time no. However, we occasionally do treat time a few times a day. Feel free to ask the Feline Guardian or Volunteer on duty if you would like to offer them treats! But it is not always guaranteed, as we do not want our kitties to get too chubby.

Please do not bring the cats any food or treats from outside the lounge.

When are the cats most active?

Cats are typically most active during the first session of the day and closer to dinner time around 5pm, but we cannot garuantee the activeness of all the cats during your reservation. All cats are different and sleep for at least 12-16 hours a day so please be understanding if they seem sleepy during your visit!

How many cats will be in the Cat Lounge?

We typically have between 18-25 cats staying at the Cat Cafe at any given time.

Where do the cats come from?

We adopt all of our cats from the Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC). The cats stay with us until they find their permanent homes.

Are the cats spray/neutered and vaccinated?

Yes, all cats have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated at the shelter before coming to Seattle Meowtropolitan.

Are all cats adoptable?

Most cats in the lounge currently are permanent residents or "ambassadors" that are staying with us for an indiscriminate amount of time until we decide to put them up for adoption.

There are usually some adoptable cats available, but not always. If you are interested in learning about cats currently available for adoption, please visit our Adoptable Cats page!
